The Inn Family

This week:

John Summers

A Mt. Airy native, John has grown up with the community. He’s been creating delicious dishes and inspired specials at the Inn for 7 months.

Q:  Working in a kitchen, everyone has a favorite food. What’s yours?
A: Thai food is absolutely my favorite- Anything from the restaurant Ten Pinh in D.C.

Q:  When you’re cooking at home, what’s your favorite meal to make?
A: I love a good lemon chicken with mushroom risotto.

Q:  What’s your favorite dish to cook at the Inn?
A: Creating desserts here is the best! Anything I can make from scratch- flourless chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake, to name a few.

Q: If you could go on a trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?
A: I’d love to go around and explore Japan. There’s so much diversity, so much to see.

Q:  What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: It’s hard to find any! But when I do, nature is where I find my peace. Hiking, walking, trekking through the mountains- whatever it is, if I’m outside, I’m happy.
